We produce publications, marketing material and online resources for the New Zealand arts sector to enhance their capability to identify, develop and target new and existing audiences and markets.
All of the Creative New Zealand publications are free or subsidised. You can either order a copy or download from the resources section of this site. The following is a description of the resources.
Creative New Zealand and the Australia Council for the Arts have joined forces to publish FULL HOUSE: Turning data into audiences. It looks at how data gathered through the ticketing process can be used to enhance sales, marketing, fundraising and relationships with customers. It also includes chapters focusing on the New Zealand context.
It's an updated version of the 1994 book Boxing Clever, published by Arts Council England. It was written by Tim Roberts from Arts, Research and Ticketing Services in Australia, Roger Tomlinson from ACT Consultant Services in the UK, and Vicki Allpress, Marketing Manager for The NBR New Zealand Opera.

This guide to touring the performing arts in New Zealand is a practical resource for small to medium-sized arts organisations interested in learning more about touring their work. It will be reprinted by June 2007. It is available online or you can order a copy of the reprint.
This publication profiles 51 export-ready performing arts companies and productions. It was produced by the Audience and Market Development team to give an overview of New Zealand work at international arts markets. The link at right provides an index of the 51 companies and productions involved. Detailed individual pdf's for each production are available by request.
This is a guide to marketing the arts in New Zealand. It's aimed at artists, entry-level publicists and producers to help them build audiences for their work. This is a list of New Zealand arts and arts events travelling internationally in 2007/2008. It is updated regularly, and included in a list compiled by the Ministry for Culture and Heritage and sent to overseas diplomatic postings.
