New Zealand at the 8th Australian Performing Arts Market

Creative New Zealand is co-ordinating and funding a New Zealand presence, including producers and performers, at the 8th Australian Performing Arts Market to be held in Adelaide from 25 to 29 February 2008.

APAM coincides with the prestigious Adelaide Bank Festival of Arts and the Adelaide Fringe. A biennial event, it enables New Zealand artists and companies to develop international contacts and identify potential markets and audiences for their work.

Its spotlight showcase also provides an opportunity to present a selection of New Zealand work to international programme-makers. As in previous APAM events, Creative New Zealand is supporting the presentation of excerpts from New Zealand works. The artists or companies taking part in the spotlight showcase will be announced later in October.

Approximately 400 key delegates from more than 25 countries attend APAM, the largest performing arts market in the southern hemisphere. It is therefore a vital platform for New Zealand performing artists wanting to make their mark on the international stage.

Creative New Zealand, in partnership with the Australia Council for the Arts, has been supporting New Zealand's presence at APAM since 2000.

Early bird registration for anyone wishing to attend APAM closes on Friday 14 December.
