As a Pacific nation New Zealand’s population, culture and national identity are increasingly enriched and influenced by Pacific peoples and cultures.
A common theme among many Pacific communities is the need to pass on traditional knowledge and skills to New Zealand-born Pacific children.
Creative New Zealand is responding to this need and our response will be informed by the research we have commissioned into the health of Pacific heritage arts in New Zealand.
This research will help to direct the decisions and actions not only of Creative New Zealand but all those who care about Pacific arts and culture.
