First Nations' Producers to APAM 2016

​This opportunity, offered in partnership with the Australia Council for the Arts, supports Māori performing art producers, presenters and strategic partners to participate in the First Nations Producers Exchange, as part of the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) in Brisbane in February 2016.

1. Check your eligibility

To apply for this opportunity you must be a Māori:

The successful delegates will be required to participate for the entirety of the exchange programme.  

2. See what's funded

Each delegate will be offered:

  • a grant of​ $1,500NZD (excluding GST) as a contribution towards international travel and APAM registration
  • 8 night's accommodation, booked and paid for by Creative New Zealand.       

The First Nations Producers Exchange involves:

  • a full programme over two days delivered by the Australia Council (20-21 February 2016)
  • facilitated check-ins during the APAM programme (22-26 February 2016)
  • a focused tri-nations reflection post-APAM (27 February 2016)
  • First Nation delegations from New Zealand, Australia and Canada.

The purpose of the Exchange is to:

  • increase networks and collaborations between First Nation performing art producers, presenters and strategic partners
  • support an international platform to share knowledge about indigenous international engagement opportunities
  • identify opportunities for greater exchange between First Nation artists and art organisations/companies across New Zealand, Australia and Canada
  • enhance the capability of First Nation performing art producers to engage in international market development and exchange.

What your expression of interest must contain

​An expression of interest to participate in the First Nations Producers Exchange must include the following information:

  • Contact details
  • A brief biography – Please highlight current/recent international activity (ie performance, producing, presenting, exchange)
  • An outline of your key objectives for attending the First Nations of Exchange
  • Confirmation of availability to travel 20-27 February 2016 to Brisbane, Queensland

Submitting EOIs electronically

Your expression of interest can b​e submitted in Word/PDF format - but please note a maximum of four A4 pages will be accepted.
