Creative New Zealand is calling for proposals from dance and theatre producers interested in being part of a Producer Pilot programme. This programme provides the opportunity to develop dance and theatre producers.

  • The amount/offer for this funding opportunity is $140,000 fund maximum p.a.
  • The next round closes: 2 Mar . 2012

This programme provides the opportunity to develop dance and theatre producers by

  • Investing in theatre and dance producers to support the creation, presentation and distribution of high-quality New Zealand work, including Maori and Pacific arts
  • Strengthening and developing the business models of theatre and dance producers
  • Encouraging artists and arts organisations to share services where this is appropriate and cost-effective and
  • Supporting the retention of skills in management and audience development in the New Zealand performing arts.

A producer may request funding to pay their stipend and/or to help offset administrative and management costs associated with being a producer - for example office rent, telecommunication costs and some travel costs relevant to representing identified artists.
