This package helps organisations deliver and/or extend high quality programming and explore new opportunities for growth and development. It also provides training on how to diversify income streams and build digital capability.

Arts Philanthropy and Partnerships Programme

Sponsorship development

This initiative helps organisations to acquire skills in sponsorship development including creating partnerships with your sponsors. Specialist provider The Gemba Group will help you better understand how sponsorship can support your organisation, the sponsors’ perspective and what sponsors want from partnerships.  

You will be assessed and offered tailored coaching which could include:

  1. Sponsorship Industry Insights webinar – The Sponsors’ Perspective.
  2. One-to-one coaching based on your individual needs and priorities. Coaching will include at least one of a range of modules available on:
    • audience profiling
    • identifying industries aligned to your audience
    • recommendations of companies to approach for sponsorship
    • understanding  market value, eg naming rights, principal or category partnership
    • a go-to-market document for you to approach a sponsor.
  3. A sponsorship strategy template with key elements of the sponsorship coaching and a record of the stages of the coaching.
  4. Access to commercial insights and trends from Gemba’s research programme to assist you in targeting potential partners.

Who’s it for?

Senior managers and staff responsible for sponsorship and revenue development. You may also be monitoring and implementing an existing sponsorship strategy.

There are at least six places for organisations in the Toi Tōtara Haemata and Toi Uru Kahikatea investment programmes. 

When and how much?

  • Applications are open now and close on 27 October 2017.
  • Starts December 2017 through to June 2018.
  • $500 plus GST per organisation.

Revenue generation strategy

This is an opportunity to undertake bespoke, intensive coaching with national consultancy Giblin Group. The aim is to develop or update a revenue generation strategy to increase your organisation’s ability to fundraise and to diversify your income.

You will be assessed and offered tailored coaching which could include:

  1. A situational analysis. An assessment of your current fundraising capability, priorities and targets aligned with your organisation’s strategic plan, including a review of your organisational documents.
  2. Coaching on the fundamental principles of fundraising. Sessions will be a mix of online and face-to-face, including a half day workshop on-site with board and management.
  3. A tailored and practical revenue generation strategy, with input from your board and staff, developed by you with assistance from Giblin Group.
  4. A chance to practice your fundraising pitch and get feedback in a ‘Dragon’s Den’ pitch session.

Who’s it for?

Digital capability

This initiative offers one-to-one coaching with arts marketing consultancy The Audience Connection to identify and start a specific digital project. 
The aim is to increase your capability in an area you choose and apply it to a specific project.

Your project could focus on one or more areas such as:

  • digital analytics
  • website development
  • social media best practice
  • live streaming and video
  • email marketing
  • Facebook advertising
  • search engine optimisation.

You will receive:

  1. Coaching content tailored to your organisation and an introduction and needs assessment meeting.
  2. 10 scheduled coaching sessions via a combination of face-to-face and online.
  3. Ongoing access to your coach and mentor who will guide you through the stages of your project and provide relevant support materials. 

Who’s  it for?

General managers, directors, marketing managers and staff responsible for digital outcomes for the identified digital project. Two places are available in the Refresher Package for organisations in the Toi Tōtara Haemata and Toi Uru Kahikatea investment programmes. 

When and how much?

  • Applications are open now and close on 20 October 2017.
  • Starts December 2017 though to June 2018.
  • $500 plus GST per organisation.

International strategy grants

These grants help arts organisations to develop an international strategy and acquire and apply research and strategic planning skills.

Who’s it for?
General managers, artistic directors and staff responsible for strategy development.

There are three grants available for organisations in the Toi Tōtara Haemata and Toi Uru Kahikatea investment programmes. 

When and how much?

  • Applications open on 11 December 2017 and close on 9 February 2018.
  • Grants of $2,500 plus GST are available for the development of an international strategy with a consultant.

You can apply through the international programme:

  • to take part in market development and
  • to take part cultural exchange initiatives.

Organisations can also apply to showcase work to international buyers/presenters and for funding to take up opportunities that result from those showcases.
