Arts Continuity Grant Batch 1 - notified 24 April 2020 Closing date: 29 May 2020
An Arts Continuity Grant is offered to support a short-term arts project, or the stage of a project, that can be delivered within a changed and evolving environment as a result of COVID-19. Decisions are made weekly, with a batch of applications assessed and recommended each week.
Projects can include the creation and/or presentation of new work. Existing projects submitted to our suspended funds can be reframed and resubmitted. Applications were open from 14 April to 29 May. More about how to apply
Results for batch 1 - applicants notified 24 April 2020
18 grants totalling $416,031 have been offered to support projects by New Zealand artists and practitioners in this funding round, across the three funding pools (General, Māori and Pacific).
27 eligible applications were received, with a total of $650,963 requested. This was broken down as follows:
- General Arts: 13 projects totalling $294,406 were supported. $513,788 was requested by 22 applicants.
- Māori Arts: 3 projects totalling $60,012 were supported. All applicants were successful.
- Pacific Arts: 2 projects totalling $61,612 were supported. All applicants were successful.
Also:
- 12 of the funded projects supported the development of arts practice and the creation of new work.
- 2 supported projects enabling New Zealanders to participate in the arts.
- 4 were to support building the resilience of the New Zealand arts sector.
