This fund provides two rounds of emergency support for Tōtara and Kahikatea organisations receiving multi-year funding that have been materially negatively impacted by COVID-19. An Arts Continuity Grant is offered to support a short-term arts project, or the stage of a project, that can be delivered within a changed and evolving environment as a result of COVID-19. Projects can include the creation and/or presentation of new work. Existing projects submitted to our suspended funds can be reframed and resubmitted. The first phase of the Short-term Relief for Investment Clients provides emergency support for existing investment clients to survive the impact of COVID-19, maintain their key people and in some cases support the broader ecology of freelance practitioners until 30 June 2020. Investment clients are the 83 arts organisations currently receiving multi-year funding via the Tōtara and Kahikatea investment programmes. Given the rapidly changing circumstances this will continue to be reassessed. Read more

An Emergency Relief Grant is a contribution towards loss of income between 1 March and 30 June due to COVID-19. This grant is a lump sum top-up of the WINZ COVID-19 Wage Subsidy to align with Creative New Zealand’s policy to pay artists and arts practitioners fairly. Applicants to this fund must have successfully applied to the COVID-19 WINZ Wage Subsidy. The Creative New Zealand Emergency Relief fund is available for eligible independent artists and arts practitioners, and members of arts organisations (including groups and collectives). Read more
