Application forms for each opportunity are only available in the CNZ portal when a round is open.

Note, the guidance, questions and character limits in an application form will be different for each opportunity. On this page you can see the application form for Arts Grants 2022/23 Round 4. If you are planning to apply for a different opportunity or funding round, make sure you check that opportunity's page to see what the questions will be, the character limits and what else you need to include in your application.
1. Start
When you open your application form you will see the 'Start' section.
Under 'Further information' you can click links to access guidelines and other resources to help you prepare your application.
Read and complete the 'Application checklist' at the bottom of this section before you start filling in other sections of the application form.
2. Applicant details
The 'Applicant details' section shows who the primary applicant is. From here, you can invite other people to collaborate with you on your application.
Contact details are read-only in the Applicant details section. If they need to be updated, click your name in the upper right-hand corner and chooose My Profile from the drop-down list.
3. Idea
In the 'Idea' section you enter a title and brief description of your project.
You also need to select the Artform, Funding type and Strategic outcome that are most relevant to your project from the drop-down lists.
Then you enter your long response to the questions in 'Idea' section.
You can type your response straight into the application form, or you can copy and paste your response from another document you have prepared in advance. If you are preparing in advance, take note of the character limit, which includes spaces, and that rich-text formatting, like headers and different font styles, can not be used in the application form.
4. Process
In the 'Process' section you select the dates that your project will start and end and select the locations where your project will take place.
Then you enter your long response to the questions in the 'Process' section.
You can type your response straight into the application form, or you can copy and paste your response from another document you have prepared in advance. If you are preparing in advance, take note of the character limit, which includes spaces, and that rich-text formatting, like headers and different font styles, can not be used in the application form.
6. Budget
In the 'Budget' section there is guidance about preparing your project budget.
You enter the amount you are requesting from Creative New Zealand and the total cost of the project then indicate if you have applied for and received funding from another source.
Click + Create new if you want to use the online budget template to complete your project budget.
You can add budget notes.
7. Support material
In the 'Support material' section you add documents and other information to support your application. Read the Guidelines - Support material for how to format your support material.
Click + Add new attachment to add support material.
