London calling…

Pianist Jennifer Lee is the 2009 recipient of the Jack McGill Scholarship. The scholarship is worth $20,000 and is administered by Creative New Zealand, with Scholarship funds being managed by the Public Trust.

Jennifer was born in Seoul, Korea, and began her piano studies at the age of five. She continued her music studies when she and her family moved to New Zealand when she was eleven. She soon became an active performer both as soloist and chamber musician. She has collaborated with Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra (UK), Wellington Chamber Orchestra, Melbourne Youth Orchestra and Victoria University Orchestra.

Jennifer will use the scholarship to continue her doctoral studies in performance piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
