Creative New Zealand seeks trainer to develop touring skills
Tuesday, 24 November 2009

Creative New Zealand is calling for expressions of interest from training providers to develop and deliver a distribution skills capability course. Expressions of Interest are due at CNZ offices by Friday 18 December, with the actual course expected to commence in May 2010. The six- eight week course will provide around 20 experienced arts practitioners with opportunities to obtain knowledge and develop the skills required to successfully organise the touring of performing art works and writers within New Zealand. The course is to be supported through funds allocated by Te Waka Toi, the Pacific Arts Committee and the Arts Board and is expected to:

  • take account of the cultural needs and perspectives of practitioners with a focus on touring works by Maori and New Zealand Pacific artists
  • involve a training workshop as well as opportunities for a tutor to mentor participants during a specific project and
use arts sector expertise and knowledge of touring within New Zealand.
  • A copy of the Call for Expressions of Interest is available from the Government Electronic Tender Service website here
