Our work | Arts organisations
Creative New Zealand is supporting 36 professional arts organisations in 2007 on a recurrent (one, two or three-year) basis. As well as monitoring and managing the funding of these organisations, our Arts Infrastructure Services team works with the organisations on a range of initiatives.
- What does the term "recurrently funded organisation" mean? At Creative New Zealand, we use this term to decribe the professional arts organisations with which we have an ongoing funding, monitoring and working relationship.
- Nine of the 36 professional arts organisations supported by Creative New Zealand on an annual or a three-year basis provide national development opportunities, information and support to the New Zealand arts industry.
- Hawke's Bay and East Coast schools and communities will be able to catch the literary wave in February when the New Zealand Book Council's Words on Wheels 2008 tour presents a series of free public literary events.
- Prime Minister Helen Clark congratulated the artists and commended the work of Arts Access Aotearoa at the launch of New Zealand's first Outside-In Gallery at Bowen House at Parliament in December.
- SOUNZ, the Centre for New Zealand Music has launched its new website, which promises to transform the way in which people access, explore and discover the music of New Zealand composers.
- Creative New Zealand has been offering workshops on governance and management during October and November to help build the capability of arts organisations in New Zealand.
- Chamber Music New Zealand's 2008 Concert Season programme features a mix of new artists and return visits by favourite performers at venues in ten centres throughout New Zealand.
- Creative spaces and individuals needing information, guidance and resources can now contact Arts Access Aotearoa and ask for its new Creative Spaces Resource Kit.
