Artist Residence in Paris - open for applications

The prestigious building of Les Recollets in the heart of Paris will host international artists in 2010. Since its launch in 2003, les Recollets has already hosted a hundred artists from more than 80 different countries.

 

Confirmed writers and artists can now apply for 2010 (January to December) on the bilingual website http://www.international-recollets-paris.org/. Applications are open until the 15th of May. The application has to be based on a project to be developed in Paris, either personal or in association with a Parisian artistic institution or a cooperation programme.

 

The applicant must provide a photo, recommendation letters as well as an artist's portfolio (photos, videos, scanned manuscripts, audio files, press reviews). The candidates will be preselected (results will be posted on the website), with a jury selecting the successful artists in September. Results will be sent by email the following month.

 

Six art studios and accomodation will be provided. The residence can last three to six months. 1500 Euros (Approx NZ$ 3725) will be granted monthly as well as help for administrative formalities and contacts with institutions in Paris.
