Multi-year funding allows an arts organisation to negotiate a contract with Creative New Zealand at a fixed-dollar level for a three-year period. It is designed to help organisations plan and deliver an agreed three-year programme of activities in the knowledge that funding from Creative New Zealand is secure for the period of the contract.
Arts organisations cannot apply for multi-year funding unless they have been invited to do so by the Arts Board or Te Waka Toi. To be considered, organisations need to have a close alignment with Creative New Zealand's strategic priorities, a proven track record of Creative New Zealand project funding (at least three years), and a strong governance and management structure. They must also produce a set of audited annual accounts and be able to demonstrate strong stakeholder support.
Organisations receiving multi-year funding are not eligible to apply for any other grants from Creative New Zealand during this period. (They are not eligible to apply for project funding, but can apply for other funding such as AMD, AODP)
